Life Benefits
Life Insurance: a lump sum to the employee’s named beneficiary in the event of death
Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance: a lump sum to cover the loss associated with accidental death or dismemberment
Critical Illness Insurance: a cash lump sum to help an injured person cope with a severe critical illness or condition such as Multiple Sclerosis, severe heart attack, blindness, severe stroke, deafness, Alzheimer’s disease, severe burns, coma, life-threatening cancer
Disability Benefits
Short-term disability is provided on a temporary basis and paid out weekly if you are injured as a result of an accident or sudden illness. Time off for day surgeries where one is admitted to a hospital may also be covered

Long-term disability is available when you have been injured off the job and have not recovered in the prior short-term disability period. These benefits can be payable up to age 65 if you cannot work in your own occupation after two years of disability.
